Energy Star

Landmark’s Energy Star score increased from 36 to 86 since the purchasing of the building in February 2011 as a result of significant lighting and equipment upgrades.

The Landmark Center was re-built in 2001, and while lighting was an important detail, the vintage and efficiency of the fixtures made indoor and outdoor lighting an easy target for a retrofit. We started with the parking garage lighting, removing metal halide fixtures in favor of a high-efficiency T5 fluorescent lighting system. We added fixtures with more lumens for increased brightness, added safety and increased efficiency for reduced consumption. A lighting retrofit of the parking lot lighting, elevator entrances and service hallways and the installation of stairwell occupancy sensors was completed in 2014. These efforts improved lighting quality while reducing electricity consumption.
